Mr. Fuqua, while not the world's most subtle filmmaker, directs the action sequences with bluntness and clarity and effectively uses his star as an oasis of calm in a jumpy, nasty universe.. .. even though Revenge is a better experience than Phantom Menace or Attack of the Clones, it doesn't add anything that satisfying or compelling to the big picture.. Depp, grimacing, edges in and out of the action and seems irrelevant and bored most of the time.. For fans it will be nirvana, and for everyone...
